The Davenport Hotel is a grand hotel of the Gilded Age, opened in 1914 and the first hotel with air conditioning, central vacuum system and folding ballroom walls. The first Crab Louis was served here, named for Louis Davenport who called his hotel the "house of comfort." Conde Nast Traveler has included the hotel in it's prestigious Gold List in 2007 and 2008. AAA has awarded the hotel a 4 Diamond rating, the highest in the region.
